Mengenal IAF dan IAS

IAF atau International Accreditation Forum merupakan asosiasi Lembaga Penilaian Kesesuaian Akreditasi yang tertarik pada penilaian kesesuaian dalam bidang sistem manajemen dan program-program serupa yang lain. IAF berbeda dengan International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) yang berfokus dalam akreditasi untuk lembaga inspeksi dan laboratorium.

IAF merupakan suatu asosiasi tingkat dunia, yang terdiri dari :

  • Conformity Assessment Accreditation bodies : Badan-badan Akreditasi Penilaian Kesesuaian,
  • dan badan-badan lain yang terkait dengan penilaian kesesuaian di bidang sistem manajemen, produk, layanan, personel, dan program penilaian kesesuaian lainnya yang serupa.

Seiring dengan adanya globalisasi perdagangan, maka penilaian kesesuaian didorong untuk semakin mengglobal dan diharapkan dapat dipercaya oleh lembaga akreditasi dan stakeholder di negara yang lain. Itulah sebabnya dibentuk International Accreditation Forum (IAF).

Fungsi IAF

IAF memiliki fungsi utama untuk mengembangkan program dan kerjasama menyangkut dengan penilaian kesesuaian yang dapat diterima di seluruh dunia. Sehingga, sertifikat dari lembaga ini dapat dipercaya hingga lintas negara untuk mengurangi risiko bisnis dan mendukung perdagangan internasional melalui penghapusan hambatan teknis, serta memberikan kepercayaan kepada pelanggan secara global.

Anggota organisasi atau asosiasi ini adalah badan akreditasi yang melakukan penilaian terhadap badan sertifikasi atau badan registrasi yang mengeluarkan sertifikat ISO dan sertifikat lainnya.

IAF terbuka untuk semua badan akreditasi yang melakukan dan mengelola program dimana mereka mengakreditasi badan sertifikasi sistem manajemen, produk, proses, layanan, personel, dan program penilaian kesesuaian lainnya.

IAS atau The International Accreditation Service adalah perusahaan nirlaba yang telah menyediakan layanan akreditasi sejak tahun 1975. IAS adalah anak perusahaan dari International Code Council (ICC), sebuah asosiasi keanggotaan professional yang mengembangkan kode dan standar konstruksi yang digunakan oleh Sebagian besar kotamadya di Amerika Serikat. IAS mengumpulkan beragam perusahaan dan organisasi termasuk entitas pemerintah, bisnis komersial, dan asosiasi professional. Program akreditasi IAS yang didasarkan pada standar nasional dan internasional yang diakui dan menjamin penerimaan akreditasinya.

IAS adalah penandatanganan empat organisasi internasional utama yang membentuk sistem terpadu untuk mengevaluasi dan mengenali badan akreditasi yang kompeten di seluruh dunia. Organisasi-organisasi ini diidentifikasi sebagai Kerjasama karena mereka telah sepakat untuk bekerja sama satu sama lain dengan mengikuti kriteria kriteria akreditasi yang sama untuk menjalani evaluasi ditempat secara berkala untuk menentukan kepatuhan terhadap Standar ISO / IEC 17011, Persyaratan umum untuk badan akreditasi yang melakukan akreditasi badan penilaian (CABs).

Organisasi-organisasi ini setuju untuk mengakui kesetaraan akreditasi yang telah diberikan oleh badan akreditasi anggota penandatanganan lainnya melalui serangkaian pengaturan pengakuan mutual (or Multilateral) Recognition Arrangements (MRAs/MLAs). Setelah badan akreditasi menjadi penandatanganan, diwajibkan untuk mengakui sertifikat atau laporan yang dikeluarkan oleh Lembaga penilaian kesesuaian yang diakreditasi oleh semua penandatanganan lainnya dalam lingkup yang ditentukan.
